Kroeber, Alfred Louis
(1876-1960) Кроубер, Алфред Луис
Антрополог, основатель кафедры антропологии в Калифорнийском университете в Беркли [California, University of; UC, Berkeley] в начале XX века. Занимался антропологическими исследованиями, был организатором нескольких экспедиций в страны Латинской Америки, изучал культуру индейцев американского континента [Amerind]. Автор ряда книг, в том числе "Природа культуры" ["The Nature of Culture"] (1952), "Стиль и цивилизация" ["Style and Civilization"] (1957). Основатель Американской антропологической ассоциации [American Anthropological Association]
